Kennedy Space Center Field Trip and Tour
Sunday, October 17 from 1:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.

 
Located just 45 minutes from the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel is NASA’s launch headquarters – the only place on Earth where you can tour launch areas, meet Astronauts, see giant rockets, and experience the new state of the art Shuttle Launch simulator Experience. At Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, guest’s get the unique chance to tour NASA’s launch and landing facilities.

Begin the afternoon with a narrated drive to Kennedy Space Center where guests experience an up close and personal look at the creativity and ingenuity that has gone into creating the most famous space program in the world. The tour begins with a short security clearance followed by a 1 ½ hour guided tour of the Kennedy Space Center facility including launch pads, assembly building and the Apollo/Saturn V Visitor’s Center. After the tour, guests can view the fabulous 3-D IMAX attraction or enjoy free time to explore the Visitor’s Complex, Rocket Garden and NASA Space Shuttle replicas.

Breathe, Move, and Wake Up with Yoga

Tuesday, October 19 & Wednesday, October 20 at 6:30 a.m.
Wake up with a gentle yoga class taught by Beebe Nelson, Director of Innovation and Product Development (IAPD).  Open to individuals of all levels, this class will focus on starting your day slowly with natural flow yoga postures, stretches, and deep breathing practices.  Class attendees will move into their day feeling awakened and stress-free.

2:00 PM Brief Security Processing
2:15 PM Board NASA buses for the Kennedy Space Center tour
3:45 PM Guided tour ends and Free time to view IMAX, explore facility, Rocket Garden, etc.
5:30 PM Depart Kennedy Space Center
6:15 PM Return to the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel

Security Clearance:
Due to the military action being taken abroad, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex has increased security on property. As of this time, the following items are not permitted at the Visitor Complex:

  • Fire arms of any type – with or without a permit
  • Ammunition – live or spent
  • Pepper/mace sprays
  • Knives of any size
  • Box cutters or like items
  • Nail clippers with knife blades
  • Any other sharp/pointed items, including pointed scissors or nail files
  • Coolers, luggage or other large bags are not permitted through the front gate

All bags, purses and other items will be inspected at the Visitor Complex. If any of the above items are discovered, guests will be asked to return them to the vehicle. If they choose not to return the items to the vehicle, guests must surrender them to a Security Officer. Surrendered items will not be returned to guests. Since all guests have to go through the metal detectors, it is suggested that guests reduce the number of items they normally carry. Visitors could face delays entering the park as a result of the searches.
